Come and take part in practical conversations for holidays!!
During this practical course you will learn basic conversational skills to help you get more out of your holiday abroad and feel more confident to talk to the local people. You can expect to learn how to order food and drink, ask general questions relating to basic directions and enquiries, out shopping and visiting the local places of interest and other conversational things generally needed in a foreign country.

Who is the course for?

This course is aimed at adult learners who wish to study for pleasure or to gain language skills to enable them to communicate at a basic level for holiday, relocation or work purposes.
The Spanish for Begginers course will be accredited by Agored.

What will I study?

A number of topics are taught in the present tense including vocabulary and grammar structures appropriate for this level of study. Learners will communicate on a simple level in everyday scenarios. Topics include:

  • Greetings and introductions.
  • The Spanish alphabet.
  • Greetings according to the time of day.
  • Where are you from? Talking about nationalities.
  • Talking about our class.
  • Ask and give personal information.
  • Can you lend me…? Asking for things.
  • Talking about studies, future plans, etc.
  • Describing places.
  • Describing areas, villages and cities.
  • Asking for and living information.
  • Giving personal information.
  • Talking about family.
  • Describing people: appearance and personality.
  • Talking about clothes.
  • Talking about stores: pescadería, carnicería…
  • How much does it cost? Asking about prices.
  • The queue: asking about your turn.
  • Shopping and paying…Useful phrases.
  • Where is…? Asking and giving directions.
  • What’s the weather like? Talking about climate conditions.
  • Driving: asking for directions.
  • The traffic signals.
  • Talking about likes, dislikes and leisure.
  • Ordering a meal in a Restaurant.

How will the course be delivered?

All our classes are for adult students only (you must be 17 years old or over to join), and are taught by our experienced Spanish native teacher, Clara Salvador. Our emphasis is on enjoying your language learning. There are no examinations to worry about!
