Happy Mother's Day to all our Moms, Guardians, Caregivers, & Friends.
School Nurses Day is Wednesday May 11th. Thank you to our amazing Nurses for all they do everyday for our students.
Last week was a lot of fun recognizing our teachers and staff. Thank you so much to our PTSA for making sure our staff had a wonderful week. Looking forward to another great week. Thank you for all the support. Go Team Newcomb!!!!!

The 16th Annual Newcomb Golf Classic is 29 days away! The registration is now open to sign up for golf and for our Spartan Night Out dinner event. You do not need to be a golfer to enjoy the tournament, all levels are encouraged to play.
You also do not need to golf in order to attend our Dinner Event! If you can't make golf, join us afterwards on the beautiful patio at Old Ranch Country Club!

School Site Council Applications
School Site Council is composed of teachers, staff and parents (total of 10 people). There are two parent seats open for 2022-23. SSC is responsible for:
assessing needs of students and using data to set goals.
gathering information from the school’s English Learners Advisory Committee and other advisory groups on campus.
revising the Single Plan for Student Achievement with budgetary allocations, and giving input on the CIE budget plan.
evaluating the effectiveness of the school plan.
revising the Home-School Compact and Parent Involvement Guidelines, as needed.
revising School Site Council By-laws, as needed.
This is a two year commitment beginning in the 2022-23 school year. SSC meets about 5 to 6 times per year in the morning before the school day begins, 7:10-8:00 am. Most meetings will be held virtually.
If you are interested, please complete the Google Application Form linked here by Friday 5/13. You can also come to the office to pick up a hard copy of the application. If you have any questions, call 562-430-1250 or email Principal Chris Thompson email: cthompson@lbschools.net.
Elections will be held virtually the week of 5/16 and in person at Open House on Tuesday 5/17 from 5:30 to 7:00.

Open House Update
The event will be from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
Boys Soccer 🥅 ⚽️ ⚽️
Boys Soccer- Our Boys made it to the Semi-Finals but fell in a hard fought game with Washington. These guys played with so much heart all season. They definitely made Newcomb proud. Thank you Coach Brannon. Congrats boys on a great season!!!
