Counselor's Corner - December Edition
Hi EBE parents and guardians!
It is now December and with the start of a new month your kiddos will be learning about a new character trait. This month we will be talking about GRATITUDE. I will be challenging your students to think of things they are grateful for. Students will receive a paper bag where they will write on a piece of paper something they are grateful for every day and place it in their bag. My goal is for students to see how gratitude can change their outlook. In addition, please see the links below to access the Family Letters with ideas of how you can continue the conversation at home.
I have also created a virtual counseling office where I have resources linked for parents/guardians along with a link to request a meeting with me. I also have a page for students to access content regarding the character trait of the month and a page for teachers to connect with me. Please see the link below to visit my virtual office!
Again if you have any questions, concerns or would just like to connect with me regarding your student you can find my contact information below. There is much going on this month with the approach of the holidays and if your family is need please feel free to reach out for support.
Have a great week!

Superintendent Deborah Rumbaugh’s Friday Message, 12.3.21
Hello Families,
As we head into what is for many the holiday season, I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation. Our educators, students and families have done extraordinary work since school began in September. We opened buildings under significant safety restrictions set forth by the Department of Health. We have adjusted those restrictions multiple times and continue to monitor, adjust and respond to evolving guidelines from the state. I appreciate your understanding and patience as we do our best to keep schools open and ensure all students have access to high quality teaching and learning.
I was reminded recently that our school systems, over the last 20 months, have planned and executed safety strategies and learning methods in what would have ordinarily taken months in a matter of weeks. What we used to spend six months studying, piloting and refining, we are doing in two to three weeks. This speaks volumes about the resilience of our staff and students. That said, safety continues to be an area of emphasis for us. In the coming weeks we will be sharing with you our efforts to ensure our schools are safe, secure and places of learning. Your support as parents and guardians is essential to our success. Thank you!

Snow Routes for 2021-2022
The weather forecast for Monday calls for a chance of snow.
Our transportation department has released Snow Routes for the 2021-2022 School Year. Please take a moment to review your student(s) routes should bus routes be changed due to snow, ice or other wintery weather conditions.
To ensure that you receive our calls about important school information, please help us by keeping your emergency contact information current in Skyward Family Access.
