The Holiday Shop was a huge success the week of December 9th - 12th! Check out all the cool shopping items.
Kindness Cow Café
Starting this month, Ms. Greene from Cow Cafe joined us this past Wednesday, Dec. 11th to recognize students that showed kindness in the class. The students recognized received a certificate and a coupon for a free ice cream at Cow Café. Teachers wrote a brief description of their student's acts of kindness with their picture. The pictures will be posted on the "Kindness Cownts" wall in Cow Cafe downtown. Creekside is grateful for this community partnership to reinforce the importance of being kind!

Creekside Participates in Berry Merry Christmas Downtown Live Holiday Window Displays
On Friday, December 6th, Creekside collaborated with Ms. Virginia Spencer from Carolina Creations and the Craven County Military Coalition to participate in the Berry Merry Christmas Live Window Displays. The Morrison family from Creekside Elementary created the live scene for the theme "Hearts Apart." In one window, the family baked cookies and packed a holiday box for their dad who is deployed. In the other window, Mr. Morrison was face-timing his family and opening up his care package overseas. Carolina Creations won first place!!
Thank you to the Morrison family for taking the time to make this event a success!
2nd Grade studying Arrays in Math
An arrangement of objects, pictures, or numbers in columns and rows is called an array. Arrays are useful representations of multiplication concepts. This array has 4 rows and 5 columns. It can also be described as a 4 by 5 array. ... When equal groups are arranged in equal rows, an array is formed.

Mrs. Banks 2nd grade classroom
Class read the ginger bread girl and discussed the characters, setting, problem, and solution along with the repeated phrase. The students went to their journals and added their solutions. Tomorrow students would take their information and do comparing and contrasting with other books they have read this week.

Sharing lost time for November tardies!
Tidbits to ponder! Each time a student is tardy to a class the minimum time lost in the class is 5 minutes with teacher having to stop, redirect student that was tardy to current classroom reality, other students getting off task and redirected.
We had 129 tardies in November:- Which equates to 645 minutes/10 hours & 45 minutes of lost instructional time
Art Show Exhibit at the Board of Education

Creekside Elementary Food Drive for Township 7 Women's Auxiliary
Our annual food drive will begin on Monday, December 2nd and continue until Wednesday, December 11th. The top classes that brings in the most canned food items will be rewarded with a class gift card for a class party of their choice!

Lost and Found is overflowing with clothes, jackets, and lunch boxes. If your child is missing anything that they brought to school and never came back home with, please come out and see if it is in our Lost and Found. Creekside will be donating what is left during Christmas Break!

100 Mile Club KickOff on Friday, November 22nd!
Please take the time to take a look at our 100 Mile Club Kick Off Pictures. The students gathered around the side field and celebrated each grade level completing a mile around the track, launching off our 100 Mile Club today! This was a huge success and we "THANK" our wonderful Ms. Liz Henderson for a job well done! Everyone had a great time.

Holiday Spirit Week at Creekside!
Congratulations to Mrs. Tonya Gent
Mrs. Gent has received a grant for the amount of from the Weyerhaeuser Paper Grant for $250.00.
They will be making a Vermicompost (vermi-compost, vermiculture) is the product of the decomposition process using various species of worms, usually red wigglers, white worms, and other earthworms, to create a mixture of decomposing vegetable or food waste, bedding materials, and vermicast.

Congratulations to the Second Grade Team!
Our second grade team, Mrs. Allyson Banks, Mrs. Rebekah Jones, Mrs. Brooke Powers and Mrs. Tiffany Pugh won a $500.00 Grant from Craven County Schools Partners in Education (PIE) for their "Use Your Tools, "Weather" You Like It or Not" project. They will be creating a station to track and learn about weather.
