Dear Parents and Carers,

I have always felt very privileged to be an educator and a learner. To witness the joy when a child understands a new concept or manages to overcome a challenge they never thought they could is always a magical moment. This week at Balladen we have had many moments of children really progressing in their learning and their self belief. In Reception and Year One the children are making excellent progress in their writing and Year Three and Four managed to give me goosebumps when I was fortunate enough to listen to their Christmas production on Thursday. These very special moments would not be possible without the wonderful teachers and teaching assistants who show their commitment each and every day at Balladen and without your support and understanding. Thank you to all of you.

This week the children showed their excellent behaviour when listening to a representative from NSPCC who came to talk to the whole school about being safe and not being afraid to speak out. She led two assemblies with the whole school and two workshops with Year Five and Year Six. The children listened attentively and showed that they knew what to do at school if they felt unsafe. Well done everyone.

As you know we are in the middle of rehearsals for our Christmas productions. They are going very well. Thank you for your understanding about tickets. The remaining tickets will go on sale on Monday so if you do require any more please do make sure that you come to school to purchase some. Thank you.

We have all had another wonderful week of learning here at Balladen. The week has been full of smiling children!

Have a wonderful weekend. I look forward to seeing all of those Monday smiles!

With respect,

Mr Neil Ringrose
