November 9th--November 13th
8th grade is making the move to bms November 10th!
Dear 8th Grade BMS Families~
We are anxiously awaiting the day that our 8th graders can make the big move over to BMS! In order to successfully make this move, we need to give our teachers and staff time to make this move, and effectively prepare for our students in their new classrooms.
Therefore, on Monday, November 9th, THERE WILL BE NO SCHOOL FOR OUR 8TH GRADERS OR ANY STUDENT WHO CURRENTLY ATTENDS WILLETT'S MS--no remote learning or face to face learning. THIS INCLUDES EARLY BIRDS. Instead, this will be a moving day for our 8th grade teachers and staff. Thank you for your understanding!
ON TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY OUR 8TH GRADE STUDENTS, AND ALL STUDENTS MOVING OVER FROM WILLETTS, SHOULD REPORT TO THEIR PRIDE TIME TEACHER--RATHER THAN FIRST PERIOD.
Thank you for your continued support!

BMS LUNCH MENU
Breakfast and lunch are free to all students this school year. The State of Ohio is providing this service for our students and families due to the financial struggles that Covid-19 has caused for many Ohio families.
IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO, PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO UPDATE YOUR CHILD'S SIF (SEE LINK BELOW)
BRUNSWICK MIDDLE SCHOOL PRIDE STUDENT COUNCIL
if your child is going to be absent.....
ATTENDANCE:
A-L (last names): 330.273.0340
M-Z (last names): 330.273.0350
Please use the phone numbers above to report an absence. Our mass attendance phone calls go out around 9:25 each morning. As the middle school settles into the school year in two different buildings, our attendance monitors are working hard to verify all absences and communicate with parents. If you happen to call your child off, but still receive an attendance phone call, please be patient with us. We are doing our best to verify attendance for all 1600 students (in two locations) by 9:00. We don't want families to be alarmed if they receive the mass phone call. We will continue to work to streamline our attendance procedures during this transition time. Thank you!

BMS mask expectations
- All students and staff will be required to wear a mask while attending BCS.
- The mask should cover the chin, mouth, and nose at all times.
- Students will be asked to wear their masks on busses, in all classes, and in all hallways.
- There are exemptions for medically fragile students--please contact me if you would like additional information on how to apply for this exemption.
- Staff has been asked to work socially distanced "mask breaks" into each school day--outside when possible, and always 6ft. apart.
- When students are not wearing masks (breakfast and lunch), they will be socially distanced (6ft.)
- If a student's mask breaks, the school will provide a mask--but is is probably a good idea to send your child with 2 masks.
- If a student refuses to wear a mask, s/he cannot remain at school--as our top priority is the health and safety of our students and staff.
- Students who repeatedly refuse to wear mask may face consequences such as: detention, in-school suspension, and out of school suspension.
BMS office procedures in the Covid Era
- If a child forgets a homework assignment, s/he can turn it in the next day without penalty.
- If a child forgets her/his lunch, s/he will be provided with the full district lunch. Please communicate with us if there are special dietary needs that require a lunch to be dropped off--thank you!
- If a child is dropped off late to school, there is no need to come inside to sign the child in.
- If a child needs to leave early from BMS, parents can come in the vestibule and sign the child out through a sliding glass window.
- If you have a question regarding access to the building, please contact the us at 330.273.0500.
Covid Communication
ADDITIONALLY--families whose child is on the same team as the student that tested positive or who is awaiting test results, will receive an additional communication--so families are aware that their child may have been in class with the student who tested positive or who is awaiting testing. If a child must be quarantined, due to contact tracing, we will notify families individually.
We are following the guidelines/protocols put in place by the Medina County Board of Health, and we will personally notify all students/families based on our contact tracing guidelines. We are unable to release individual student names. Thank you for your support and understanding as we navigate these waters and strive to keep our students and staff safe.
