People need recognition and a sense of worth as much as they need food and water."

Virtual Learning Up & Running!

Dear AISB Families,

Thank you to students, parents, and teachers who made the transition to virtual school successful. Yes, there are technical issues and challenges that we have to work through, but over all, learning is happening. Student materials were picked up and a vast majority were able to login successfully to their classes

I have joined a few classes this past week to see what the experience is like for both students and teachers. Having breaks throughout the day is key. Teachers are incorporating these breaks into each class. It is not expected that students or teachers sit on the screen for the entire period. An example of this is when a student starts the class online, then moves to some independent work (no screen), and then returns to show and explain what was done. Teachers of course will be available at anytime during the class to assist and work with individuals and small groups.

If your child is unable to enter a Zoom or Google Meet classroom, please have them email or send a message to the teacher directly. We take attendance seriously, so students are expected to login on time and turn on their cameras until the teachers states otherwise.

We are all committed to making this work! Teachers have worked extremely hard, developing and modifying lessons to ensure student and class engagement.

Our hope is to have a staggered Covid testing session mid next week and to eventually return to campus learning. More details will be communicated to you before the end of this week.

Covid-19 Tips

Important Information!

According to the Ministry of Health and the Covid Support Commission, the treatment period for COVID-19 lasts for 15 days and there is a 7 days wait period to build antibodies. Even if someone has already tested negative, it is imperative to complete the dose and observe this time frame. As the AISB Task Force, we are commissioned to implement this health regulation.

First Quarter Student Awards

On Friday November 5, we had a virtual awards ceremony for students of the quarter, Honor roll and High Honor roll.

AISB has a culture of celebrating success, recognition and giving students a sense of worth. Award ceremonies are those moments that our students look forward to and aspire to be recognized. Students who fall short are also acknowledged for their effort and encouraged to try harder. Students did a commendable job, especially in high school with many of them in honor and high honor roll.

Continue to reinforce the right attitudes for achieving at a high academic standard for your children.
