Flu Shots Coming to WHS for Staff & Students
Flu season is upon us again! Parker County Hospital District will be coming to our campus on September 27th to administer flu shot to Students and Staff. They will start giving flu shots at 7:15am and go until they have completed immunizations for all that wish to participate.
Important additional information….
- This clinic is for staff and students only. (There is a Family and Friends Day where the Community is invited on September 20th from 4-7pm at the NGC.)
Please, remember, you WILL NOT get the flu from the flu shot as it is an inactivated virus. Occasionally a person will be exposed to the flu before his/her body has had sufficient time to build immunity (about 2 weeks), or he/she gets a flu type not covered by the vaccine.
This year the CDC says “the vaccine has been updated to better match circulating flu viruses.”
Overall the more people who get the flu shot the better off we all will be. Herd immunity is a great thing choose to be part of the HERD!!!

WISD Education Foundation Student Scholar Athlete of the Week
Campbell has played football for 11 years, and he’s been a Roo his whole life! He's played basketball and run track but favorite sport to play is football. This is his 3rd year on the Varsity football team where he proudly wears #7 as the quarterback for the Kangaroos. Corban was named to the Academic All-District team the past two years.
He excels in academics and has always been an A/B student. In school, he also participates in Theater Arts and Culinary Arts classes, and he’s helped coach younger students. He’s interested in studying psychology/sociology to become a therapist counselor, but hopes to continue to play football after high school.
Congratulations to Corban Campbell!
