Review- Retelling BME, Main Idea, Character Traits, & Elements of a Story

I can identify the elements of a story and explain problems and solutions to my partner.

I can respond to books I am listening to by writing a response in my journal.

I can identify the main idea by explaining supporting details.


I can write sentences by using correct capitalization, adjectives, and punctuation. I will use editing marks to evaluate my writing.

Word Work & Grammar:


I can identify contractions by finding them in books.





I can solve problems by using the Thinking Pattern- Bigger, Smaller, Difference.


I can explain new strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems by telling my partner what “Thinking Pattern” I am using to solve the word problem.

I can RESEARCH a holiday with my group by using nonfiction books and resources on the iPad. I will create a poster of a holiday & share it with my class.

I can explain the importance of family customs & traditions by sharing with friends.
