MESSAGE FROM SUPERINTENDENT
Big Red Community —
On Monday, our teachers and staff came together at Belton High School for a full day of professional development. It’s the second year we’ve hosted the Recharge Conference, and each year it reminds me that I have the privilege to lead a district where our values and beliefs are not merely words. They are lived out daily by our almost 2,000-member team.
One of our values and beliefs says that the mindset of continuous improvement should be modeled by our staff and cultivated in classrooms.
At the Recharge Conference, our staff led sessions for their colleagues across a range of topics — everything from customer service training to technology tips and tricks to thoughtful assessment strategies and best practices for creating inspiring instruction.
It was amazing to see all our staff — teachers, counselors, administrators, paraprofessionals, nurses, custodians, bus drivers, school nutrition specialists and many others — learning alongside each other with the shared desire to improve in our crafts so we can better serve students.
It always goes back to our students and our vision to empower each and every learner to pursue their dreams and enrich their communities.
Thank you for partnering with us on this journey!
Matt Smith, Ed.D.
Superintendent
