The Dominican Republic's main crops are sugarcane, coffee, cotton, cocoa and tobacco.

In most Spanish speaking countries family is extremely important. Meals are to be eaten with family and friends. Most school allow kids to go off campus to eat with friends and family. When invited to someone's home for dinner dress nicely, as appearance is very important.

95 % of the country is catholic, so most Dominicans celebrate Easter and Christmas like we do. They also celebrate Carnival in February. For most holidays they eat things like rice pudding, shrimp and potato fritters, lamb and roasted pepper stew, and stuffed potato balls.
