Cells

Nucleus
This is like the a mayor. It is the main part of the cell that tells all of the other organelles what to do while also holding the cell DNA. It is found in both animal and plant cells.
Cell Membrane
This is like the doorman. It controls what enters and leaves the cell. It is found in both animal and plant cells.
Cytoplasm
This is like jello. It is what fills up the cell also it is clear and holds all of the organelles in place. This is found in both animal and plant cells.
Ribosome
This is like a. It creates proteins that the cell needs. This is found in bot animal and plant cells.
Mitochondria
This is like a power plant. It releases energy into the cell. This is found in both animal and plant cells.
Vacuole
This is like a storage warehouse. It stores nutrients that the cell needs. This is found in both animal and plant cells.
Golgi body
This is like a packing plant. It groups items and packs then into vesicles (packets). This is found in both animal and plant cells.
Rough ER
This is like a highway. It makes proteins that the cell needs and prepares the protein for the Golgi Apparatus. This is found in both animal and plant cells.
Lysosome
This is like a recycling system. It breaks down waste to clean up the cell. This is found only in animal cells.
Cell wall
This is like a security guard. It protects the cell form injury and helps keep its shape. This is found only in plant cells.
Chloroplast
This is like solar panels. It converts the suns rays into energy that the cell can use. This is found only in plant cells.
Cell theory
- All living things are made of cells.
- Cells carry out the functions needed to support life.
- Cells come only from other living cells.
Body organization
- cell
- tissue
- organ
- organ system
- organism
Prokaryotic cells
This cell does not have a nucles. Example: bacteria.
Eukaryotic cells
This cell does have a cell nucleus. Example: fungi.
