A MESSAGE FROM MR. NELSON
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING ASSESSMENT AND POWERSCHOOL
Dear Families,
As we evolve and grow in the Franklin Public Schools’ virtual learning environment, we continue to look for ways to engage with your children as we did when we were in the classroom. Part of the responsibility of educating your child is assessment and reporting practices. You may have already had teachers reach out on how they will be working with your child to assess their progress and provide meaningful feedback. Teachers are monitoring the work that your child is sharing and will be virtually conferring with your child. Check-in times will also be when teachers assess as students finish a unit. Your child may be assessed in a variety of ways including, but not limited to, paper/pencil, listening in, and reading.
After reviewing all the learning your child has shared, the teacher will inform you of your child’s progress through Powerschool. Teachers will email you prior to any meetings regarding what is needed so your child can properly prepare for each meeting. Please watch for emails and ensure your child is organized and prepared.
Thank you again as we work through making “school” as normal as we can for you and your children. If you have any questions, please reach out to your child’s teacher or principal.
Sincerely,
Mr. Nelson

HAPPY HOME
The Robinwood ES3 team would like to share a new feature with you called Happy Home. Each week we will pass along some tips to help keep your home as happy and healthy as possible during Safer at Home. ES3 is a three-year state-funded grant program with the mission of improving outcomes for students who require social and emotional support. We can ALL use social and emotional supports, especially now, so we hope you enjoy! See below:
Hello Families,
Research suggests that we need movement roughly every 2 hours to stay focused and to keep our bodies regulated. Now that it is certain we are not going back to school physically this year, we thought it would be nice to have a list of movement activities at your fingertips so that your child and family can continue to receive the movement we all need!
We have compiled a list of Indoor Movement Activities for you to use with your child. It is a simple list of movement breaks to incorporate into your child’s day.
Pick a new one each day, each week, one in the morning or one at night??? Be creative and use as you wish. Some may work for your family, while others may not. Our goal is to give you and your family a variety of movement activities to choose from. We even put the movement breaks onto a Bingo card for your family to do on game nights!
ROAR TV
ROAR TV is back. ROAR TV is how we provide our daily announcements at Robinwood. The students on the ROAR TV crew work with our art teacher, Jacqui Valens, to provide important information to our Robinwood school community. One of the ROAR TV members, Brennon, reached out to Mrs. Valens to ask if they could continue to create episodes to “raise the roaring spirit...and let the kids know we are all in this together.” Of course we said yes. We are very proud of our students taking initiative to build community together, even though their team, and all of us, are apart. Mrs. Valens is also asking for videos from families if you would like to contribute. Please keep the videos under 19 seconds long and send them to this email: RWRoarTV@Franklin.k12.wi.us

No fees are associated with these requests and they will be entered on a first come, first serve basis after your groups reservation period begins. Click here for the School Facility Use Application. Click here for a 20-21 Calendar
All PTO/PTA Events should be submitted to the Rec Dept as well but it wouldn't hurt to give your school secretaries a list of those for reference, along with who the lead person will be in case we need to contact them for any reason.
Events that run only during the school day should have the form submitted to the school secretaries.
POEM BY SHIVYA K. GRADE 3
This is my new School
No more rush mamma doesn’t hush for me to get to bus
No more talks
No more laughs
Daddy says this shall pass
This is not cool but this is my new school
Class lessons are on laptop now
Me and my friends thinks this is wow
No more recess
No more playtime
Teacher doesn’t say do not talk it’s class time
This is not cool but this is my new school
They say world has changed due to Covid-19 and there will be no school till it’s fine
We are far but together
We will change
We will laugh
We will play
We will learn
This will be so cool that will be my school
