January 2023
Starting a brand new year brings change whether we like it or not. It brings joy, excitement, and hope. Looking to the future can be an incredibly exciting thing because maybe we want to forget what happened last year, maybe we have a motivating game plan on what lies ahead, or maybe we just want to say we're older and therefore wiser. Whatever it may be, Scripture does celebrate the newness in life, or more specifically, the new life in Christ.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17)
Even with this newness in mind, sometimes a new year can bring more stress, more fear, or more sadness of what used to be. The future, albeit exciting, is unknown and can be scary.
Whatever way you're entering 2023, I want to encourage you and your families that we rely not on our control, our own strength, or our own wisdom. We rely solely on God because in Him, we need not fear the future. Fear does not hold us or love us, God does. In fact, we are reminded of what He does for us in Isaiah 41:10 when it says,
"Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Take that, fear! We have God on our side. So let's make this year about relying on HIM, not holding onto fear!
Now, let's get EXCITED for what's ahead in Youth Ministry!!! Below are links, sign-ups, and info on what's to come for youth ministry and the fun times we had in December! We may not know what the future holds, but we know the One who holds our future!
God's blessings on your 2023!

"Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:13-14)
