LUNCH WITH THE KEYS
Fred Wilkins played Football for UNA and graduated with a degree in Education and a minor in sociology. He also played football in the Arena football league league before taking a job in Memphis Tennessee. Fred is a part of the Hope Team Speakers for Ole Pete Key Inc. and he shared his story at the lunch with the Keys Program. He had a massive stroke at the age of 25. He had the stroke on July 21st and he woke up out of the coma August 5th. He couldn't talk for another year and had 13 surgeries during that time. After 3 years of therapy 3 days a week and didn't miss one session he is on his way back to recovery. He works at Walmart as a greeter and received employee of the year and he was honored by the American Heart Association last month for overcoming a massive stroke. He married his fiancée Wanesha and just had a son name Zane.He told the students that there are no excuses and life shows up but you must show up ready to fight and never give up. Although one side of his body is still recovering he recently stop using his walking cane and now walking on his own. It was great for students to see someone overcoming obstacles and still fighting.
FAFA Stage Band students performed their Rock the House concert for the student body
