Edmodo for Parents
Midway ISD
Before you get started:
- Edmodo is a great way for students and parents to stay informed on all classroom activities in one place.
- Students will have the ability to retrieve and turn in digital assignments all through Edmodo.
- Your student’s grades will continue to be posted in Home Access Center. Edmodo will only show grades for digital assignments turned in through Edmodo.
- After creating your parent account, please do not change the password for your student's Edmodo account.
Step #1
Find your parent code
Before proceeding with creating a parent account, you will need to locate information from your student's Edmodo account. There are 2 options for finding this:
- Option 1: Find your parent code using your student's account (easiest option)
- Option 2: Get your student's Edmodo username and password
Finding Option 1:
If you have a student in grades 7-12, most likely they will already be logged into the Edmodo app on their iPad. Follow these steps:
1. Open the Edmodo app on your student's iPad
2. FInd the menu on the left.
3. Tap your student's name/picture.
4. The profile for your student will appear and show you the parent code.
5. Here is a screenshot of where to see this on the Edmodo app. Click here for a picture of this process.
If your student is using the full version of Edmodo on the web while they are at home, they will need to log into their student Edmodo account for you to find the code:
Finding Option 2:
- Have your student log into their Edmodo account and you will discover their username and password, which will help you create your parent account. You will be prompted for this information when you start the directions below.
Step #2
Do you want to use the web version or app version?
You can create/use your account the following 3 ways
- Edmodo for parent app (iPhone)
- Edmodo for parent App (Andriod)
- Edmodo for parents (web verison)
Decide which way you want to use and find that section below for detailed information. At this time, the recommended way is to use an iPhone or Android Mobile App.
Note: Once you sign up one way (the web, for example), you will be able to use the same log in for the other way (the app, for example).
