Lafayette School

Parent Update: January 27

Good Luck

Good luck to our Shrek Jr. cast and crew tonight and tomorrow. We are all looking forward to the shows. Thank you to all of the LAF Staff and parents who made this program possible.

King Arthur

We hope that your child enjoyed the assembly this week and you are looking forward to baking some bread/treats this weekend. If you choose to participate in the baking this weekend, please take some pictures so they can be considered for the yearbook. And LAF Live of course! Please send your pictures to lauren.cadigan@gmail.com.

Also, please do not leave your rising dough within reach of any pets. As most pet owners are aware, the dough will continue to rise in their stomachs and become harmful to pets.

Hickory Tree Pizza Price Increase

Effective March 1, 2023, the cost of the Hickory Tree slice of pizza lunch will increase to $4.00 and the cost of an additional slice of pizza will be $2.50.

The Great Kindness Challenge

Next week, LAF will participate in the Great Kindness Challenge. Our students will be given a Bingo Board (see below). They will be challenged to make a circle around the board. Once the board is complete, they will receive a ticket which will be posted in the school. Staff will also give out tickets when they notice random acts of kindness.

Operation Valentine - DUE Feb 3rd

This year for Valentine's Day we’d like to celebrate our teachers by telling them how much they mean to us. Please have your child complete the hearts being sent home today for any staff member who is important to him/her and return them to school. The hearts are also linked below. They can return them to a designated student in the classroom or to the box in the front office. Don’t forget to complete who it is “To” and “From”. The notes will be sorted and presented to each teacher in a small clutch for Valentine’s Day!
Operation Valentine

Students will also come home with paper copies.

Walk to School Day - February 1st

Walk to School Day raises awareness of the need to create safer routes for students to walk and roll (bike, skate, etc) to school and emphasizes the importance of issues such as increasing physical activity among children, pedestrian safety, traffic congestion, and concern for the environment. Please join the LAF community on Wednesday, February 1 for Walk to School Wednesday!
