Reading Corner

Welcome to PCPS! This is my 15th year as the Media Coordinator at PCPS. I strongly encourage you to read to your child(ren) every day. Research shows that this is a very easy way to help your child be successful in school and develop a love of reading. If you don't have time to read to your child on a busy evening , you could allow your child to visit NC Digital Kids Library or Scholastic Bookflix on your computer or mobile device. These books are like video books and are highly engaging and enjoyable for children.

Lastly, I would like to invite you to check books out for your child from our media center. Family accounts can be opened allowing you to check out numerous books. Please feel free to drop in at any time before, during or after school to use our computers, read the Pamlico News and parenting magazines or check out books. I look forward to seeing your family this year.

Principal's Corner

he 2017-2018 school year marks my 17th year in education. After graduating from UNC-CH with a degree in Elementary Education, I began my teaching career in Beaufort County. For 10 years, I taught 2nd and 3rd grades at Chocowinity Primary. In 2010, I was fortunate to receive the NC Principal Fellows Scholarship and pursue my MSA degree at ECU. In the 4 years before joining the PCPS family, I served as an administrator in Beaufort County I live in Chocowinity with my husband David, and our two boys Colt (15) and Caleb (12). I look forward to working with the faculty, parents, students and the Pamlico County community to continue the successes of PCPS. Please feel free to stop by and visit or contact me here at school at anytime. Thank you for being a part of what makes PCPS so special!
