The Book Week theme this year connected many areas of the curriculum. In particular possible connections with STEM are exciting. As in previous years the classes examined the Shortlisted Books 2015 and voted on these.
As a class activity each class constructed a lantern (or lanterns) which displayed their interpretation of the theme “Books Light Up Our World”.
These lanterns are on display in the JS Library during Book Week (Week 7).

FRENCH KNITTING Follow the QR code and directions to create. | LIGHT PAPER COLLAGE For those who like to create with their hands. The L-I-G-H-T display of letters is constructed from paper letters, collage materials and cardboard props. | LIGHTHOUSE CONSTRUCTION Construction following the design process. Students from Year 1-6 collaboratively constructed this in the first few weeks of the term. |
