MAY 4th UPG MEETING: NAVIGATING THE NEW VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

The school district community is invited to Glenside Elementary on Monday, May 4 at 7 p.m. for a meeting on navigating the new state mandated volunteer requirements. Monday's meeting will feature information on completing required forms and how/where to get required elements of the new regulations (ie; fingerprinting and TB testing).
Meeting participants will be able to fill out mandatory forms on site at the meeting.

MAY 5th INFORMATIONAL MEETING: CEDARBROOK MIDDLE SCHOOL REBUILD PROJECT

Cheltenham School District community members are invited to the Administration Building on Tuesday May 5 from 5:45–6:45 p.m. to review the initial design concept for Cedarbrook Middle School’s rebuild project. Gilbert Architects Inc. Vice President, Danielle V. Hoffer, will discuss the project and answer community questions to open the meeting. At 6:15 p.m. Ms. Hoffer will deliver a presentation on the preliminary rebuild design concept. Ms. Hoffer’s presentation will be shown again that evening as part of the regularly scheduled May 5th Facilities Committee Meeting.

CURRICULUM OPEN HOUSE - K-6 MATH PROGRAM SELECTION

All members of the Cheltenham School District community, including parents, students, teachers, and residents, are invited to attend a Community Open House on Thursday, May 21. The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Administration Building.

During this event, guests will be able to see sample materials from two math programs which are being considered for adoption in grades K-6 for the 2015-2016 school year. For a quick overview, you may visit the program websites: enVision math 2.0 and Eureka Math .
District personnel and publisher representatives will also be on hand throughout the day to share information about the process and answer questions.

Gerald Aungst, supervisor of gifted and elementary math for the district, will give a formal presentation on the selection and pilot process at 11:00 a.m. The same presentation will then be repeated at 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. No registration is necessary. These presentations are open to all who wish to attend.

STORY OF THE WEEK: Glenside Elementary "Girls On The Run", Season 4

Girls On The Run, in the Cheltenham School District, is in full swing for the 4th year. Glenside Elementary recently joined with the first year team at EP to complete their practice 5k. With the two teams combined there will be 45 girls participating (the most yet within Cheltenham School District). Girls on The Run is a national nonprofit after school program for 3rd-5th grade girls.
