CONGRATULATIONS!
El Marino Elementary is being recognized as a 2023 California Distinguished School. This is an exceptional achievement.
The California Distinguished Schools program recognizes schools for their excellent work in one of two categories: closing the achievement gap and achieving exceptional student performance.
JOGATHON
Thank you El Marino families for helping PTA raise over $78,000!! We are incredibly grateful to everyone and are looking to continuing to support students, families, teachers, and staff. The kids had so much fun, ran their little hearts out, and were so proud to help PTA.
A big note of gratitude to the Jogathon Committee members: Sonia Malhotra, Kalyani Narayanan, Candice Chang, Renita Chandra, and LaTesha Reed. We appreciate all the volunteers that helped us during the day.

JAPANESE STORY TIME
Club de Lectura In Memorium for Founder Eugenia Marú Sanchez
-----------
With great sadness, we share the passing of Club de Lectura founder Eugenia Marú Sanchez.
Marú was a former El Marino parent and volunteer. She was an adjunct (TLSP), founder of Club de Lectura (10 years ago), co-founder of Homework Club through ALLEM, and co-founder of the Cultural Heritage Committee.
Marú has left an indelible mark in El Marino. We appreciate her devotion and service to El Marino students and the community. Apart from being an integral person in El Marino, she was a volunteer at her parish, St. Augustine.
Marú was an exemplary person. She was kind, friendly, helpful, and caring. She will be missed. She is survived by her husband, daughter, and two sons. May she rest in peace.
