Dine to Donate with 1st grade

Tuesday, January 13 was the PTO's dine-to -donate event at Marco's Pizza. Thank you to all who stopped by, it was great to see you and your child. Also thank you for supporting our PTO!

Second Semester

You may start to notice that your child's work is getting a little bit more difficult in the next couple of weeks. We are really focusing on answering in complete sentences and responding to our reading through our writing. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. The best way to help your child with the above skills is to use the question sheet that was placed in your child's book baggie. Thank you for all you do at home to support your child's education.

NWEA computerized testing for the winter session

We will be going to the computer lab to take the winter version of our NWEA test on Tuesday the 20th and Thursday the 22nd first thing in the morning. Please try to avoid doctor appointments at this time and try to make sure your child is here on time on these two days. They do have the ability to make up if they would miss, however, students tend to do better when testing with their own teacher and classmates. Thank you for understanding.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

The students will not attend school on Monday, January 19th in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. I hope everyone enjoys their long weekend! We will hopefully resume a normal schedule that Tuesday minus delays and/or snow days. :)

High 5 Behavior

We have been reviewing our classroom expectations since returning from break. With the unpredictable weather it has been very hard for the kids to get back into the “normal” school routine and remembering appropriate classroom behavior. Please help me to remind your child as they leave for school to stay focused when they are here. Thank you for your help and support in this! Spring is just around the corner!

Scholastic Book Orders

I will be sending home a book order with your child on Tuesday. These will be due back on Wednesday, January 28th. You may order online using the code that you will find on the top of your child's book order. Thank you!

Please keep in mind that we will be going outside for recess unless the wind chill is below 25. Make sure to send your child to school with an appropriate coat, gloves and hat for being outside 20-30 minutes everyday.
