Dia de los Muertos
Day of the Dead
Celebrate Dia de los Muertos
Brown Elementary Families,
Remembering and celebrating our deceased loved ones during Dia de los Muertos can help bring comfort to us in a very unique way. As a counselor, students often want to talk with me about their loss, and share stories of loved ones and pets who have died. Day of the Dead is an opportunity for families to come together and keep the memories alive of their deceased loved ones–ultimately strengthening the connections between the living and the dead in a beautiful non-scary way.
Below are links to kid-friendly videos, read aloud books, music, and crafts to help you and your family learn more about Dia de los Muertos. I hope you will take some time and go through this newsletter with your child and have precious conversations about those loved ones who have died and how you can celebrate their lives.
Respectfully,
Ms. Julie Von Berckefeldt
