How a Computer Works!
A hard drive is a disk drive that allows the computer to read from and write to a hard disk.
The optical disk drive is the integral part of consumer appliances such as DVDs, CDs, and Blu-Rays. Basically this is the part that scans or reads the disk using a laser light so it can burn the data on your chosen device. This allows us to play our music, watch our shows, and enjoy a funny movie!
The monitor displays the computer's user interface. This is the also known as our computer's screen.
The CPU is the Central Processing Unit and is commonly called the processor. The CPU is the brain of the entire system because that is where the details are located. It is implanted in the motherboard
RAM stands for random access memory, which is a type of computer memory that can be accessed randomly.
The motherboard connects all of the parts of a computer together. The CPU, memory, hard drives, optical drives, and other ports and expansion cards are all inside the mother board.
Input and Output
Input is where all documents, programs, and files are inserted in the computer. Output is when these files are processed and can be viewed on the monitor.
A touch screen is a screen that can be manipulated through the use of our fingers. The screens have specific sensors that allow us to do this.
Operating System (OS)/ Other Software
An operating system is the part of the computer that controls the operation of the device and allows us access to certain applications.
