Weekly Staying Connected
Week of October 5 - 11
I wanted to come to you this week as Mom - my everyday self. But, I couldn't figure out the words to say in the video. I wanted to focus on the word FAMILY. Even with the ups and downs, the disagreements - family is important. There's joy, encouragement, teaching, growth, and fellowship. At any time, anyone can walk away from family and survive, but you'll be alone - but you can thrive with family.
We, encourage and challenge you to fight to stay connected to the church - even though it's hard work, yes - it can be work - but it's worth it!
We love you - Majors Celestine & Shoshannah Ruwethin
UPDATE: Senior Soldiership Classes Live AND on Zoom - 6 pm
*** Several people are interested in these classes - so it's not too late to join. UPDATE - in person classes will be @ the church at 6 pm - while those who need ZOOM can still join.
In person AND Zoom Senior Soldership/Salvation Army 101 Class on Mondays @ 6 pm, starting September 28. Taking the classes is not a commitment to become a soldier (church member) - but rather for believers to learn more about The Salvation Army and it's doctrine. We do ask that you make a commitment to these classes from September 28 - November 30 (10 meetings, once a week maximum). The classes may end earlier depending on how the discussion and instruction goes.
Click here to join the classes. The classes will be no longer than 1 hour each time.

Family Check In - NEW TIME!!!
We had a great time of sharing in our first Church Family Check In last week. It was simply a time to check in - share praise/prayer and support each other. Last week those who called in shared scripture, their family happenings, how work was going, and prayed for each other. We encourage you to ZOOM in and connect. We will now be checking in on Wednesdays from 6 - 6:30. Join us link.

Teens Moving to THURSDAYS!
Who knew that contactless hide and seek with phone flashlights would be so fun? The teens did last week! If you are 13 years old and up - come join us for Teen Group. We are meeting in the church building, so make sure to bring your masks ... on THURSDAYS from 6 - 8 pm. We are back to our regular meeting days.
From the Territorial Youth Office ...
We want to share with you a new event that THQ youth is doing called Church Words. Church Words is a quick fire (30 mins) biblical teaching workshop that dissects and explores one “church word” at a time. A church word is a word (sometimes phrase) that we often use in the church with the belief that others understand. It’s rarely broken down and this expected understanding usually leads to misunderstandings and misuse of the word. Examples of these words are: calling, blessed, disciples, tithe, etc.
This year, they are taking Church Words virtual with a conference style set up. Over the course of one week, they will be hosting one church word each day via Zoom with teachers from all over the world.
DATES: October 12-16th
TIME: Each night 5:00-5:45pm PST
The Church words they will be discussing are:
- Prophecy
- After-Life
- Anti-Christ
- Apocalypse
- Resurrection
We would love you to support this event. Stay tuned for the registration link in the coming days. We hope you and your young adults can join, even if it just for a day or two.
