Southview PS Weekly Update
Week of January 21st, 2019
Southview Spirit for our View Crew!
Family Literacy Day is January 27th. Below are some fun home activity ideas and some ways to participate in Southview's Literacy Week. Literacy is integrated into all curriculum programming at Southview Public School, each and every day. In addition to our regular literacy programming, our school is planning several additional activities to celebrate Literacy Week 2019: Monday, January 28th to Thursday, January 31st. Family Literacy Day is Saturday, January 27th, 2019 and will kick off our Literacy Week activities.
How can you participate from home?
#GetCaughtReading ~ Snap a picture of your family reading and post to Twitter using this hashtag. Be sure to tag @Southview_LDSB, or send to our email (email@example.com) and you will be entered into a draw for prizes
Students begin their home literacy connection check sheet. Students choose one activity each night to do with a family member. On Monday, February 4th students return their sheets to be entered into draw for a prize! Prizes will be drawn Wednesday, February 6th! A sample of the home connection check sheet is below.
Ongoing events planned throughout the week, such as Read My Shirt Day, a spirit assembly, PJ Day, and numerous whole school reading and writing activities will make it a week to remember at Southview! More details will be sent out towards the end of next week.
We have so much to be thankful for, and so much to look forward to in the the weeks ahead at Southview Public!
