CN Jr/Sr HS WeAreOne
December 9, 2018
At the Indiana Youth Institute Conference I attended just after Thanksgiving break, one of the break-out sessions was about not just saying what we want kids to learn and do, but defining it, explaining it, giving it meaning, and modeling it for our students. I've thought about this as it relates to our Character Education program and our Student of the Month recognitions. I love that we recognize our students, but I think we could dig a little deeper and make sure they know what we saw them do or say or exhibit and why we chose them for this recognition. We have great kids! Often times we have multiple students we could nominate each month. Maybe by digging a little deeper each month - defining, explaining, and modeling the pillar we will recognize - we will find ourselves seeing this trait in multiple students displayed in multiple ways and open up other opportunities for recognition. We've talked about this informally and are working on ways to make this happen. If you have ideas, please let me know.
Albion's Christmas in the Village Light Parade
Thank you to everyone who took part in the Christmas Parade. Whether you helped ahead of time or walked with the school, or did both, we appreciate it! A special thanks to Mrs. Mault who always puts her creative genius to work on ideas and Mrs. Lortie and Mrs. Earnhart for helping make these ideas a reality! The message we displayed is in the center picture. I hope that is the message we are sending to our students everyday!
A Great Week Ahead
Below are a few things going on this week at the Jr/Sr High. In addition please join us Wednesday night for the Fine Arts performances. Jr High starts at 6 and the Sr High follows at approximately 7 pm.
Thank you to Mrs. Sirois and her Cougar U for bringing this idea to life! What a great way to help those in need and give our students and community a way to give back! That's what it's all about!
Pay to Play
Thank you to Mrs. Yoder and Mrs. Scott for the Pay to Play Fundraiser idea. So far we have raised $250 to help a family in need. Great things can happen when we come together!

Please return your unwrapped Miracle Tree Gift to the office no later than Friday, December 14th. Please include the tag with the gift. Thank you again to everyone who helped by taking a tag or making a donation.
