Our Lady of Lourdes School T2 W6
Nau mai, Haere mai, Welcome to Week 6
HELLO, KIA ORA, KIA ORĀNA, MALO E LELEI, TALOFA, NAMASTE, KUMUSTA...
We hope that you had a good break over the Queen's Birthday weekend and we hope that this week sees a return to some wellness in the school. We seem to be getting hit hard with a flu/virus which sees our children very unwell for a week, we are still having positive Covid cases as well. For those that can we would encourage mask wearing to assist us all as we head into the colder months.
SCRIPTURE READING COMPETITION
Congratulations to Emily (Year 5) and Lizzie (Year 6) who are representing our school tonight at the Inter school Scripture Reading competition at St Mary's. We are so very proud of you and all that you have achieved.
INTER SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY
Although we did not get to run our school cross country, many of our classes trained hard over the last month. Today we have Kellan and Milo representing our school in this event today at Ashhurst Domain. Good luck, do your best and know we are very proud of you both.
A reminder that is so very important for us to know where your child is each school day. Please make contact with us using the school App, leaving a voicemail message or emailing Karen Worsley in the office if your child is absent from school. It is a Ministry of Education requirement that we keep explicit tracking of all of our children. Again, our thanks for your help and support with this.
CONFERENCES AND MID YEAR REPORTING
All teachers are working their way through a new reporting system in our school. We look forward to sharing this with you during Conferences later in the term and then working towards an online platform by Term 4. We will again use the electronic system for booking School Conferences and this is now open for bookings. Please see the instructions below. These will also be posted on Seesaw.

FAITH FACTS FOR TERM 2
Week 6 (7-10 June)
“When Christ is at the centre of our lives, we can endure the hardships that come and know that the promise of eternity with God is ours.”(Archbishop Paul Martin, Extract from Inform, Issue 131- Lent 2022)
Tuesday 8 June is the Feast day of St Medard, Bishop of Noyon.
St Medard, the son of conquering Franks, lived in Gaul in the 6th century. He was one of the most famous bishops of his day. Some of his miracles in favour of thieves who had robbed him may have inspired the story of Bishop Myriel in the novel Les Misérables.
FROM THE BOARD
The elections will now be held between 5 September and 23 September 2022, with the common (or preferred date) being 7 September 2022.
Please begin to have a think if this is something you may like to be a part of. We have three Proprietors Reps, who are the voice of the Proprietor and an active participant in church life and we have four parent Reps. We have some amazing long standing board representatives that are looking at moving on to their next adventure.
We have been truly blessed to have such a hard working team that are all about our children/tamariki - supporting our school/kura to be the best it can be. We have made significant changes in many of the physical spaces, and to our teaching and learning programmes. We look forward to moving forward together on our waka of improvement and growth.
