Lindsey Weekly Update
The week of March 30, 2020
Message from Mrs. Bellan
Lindsey families,
As we embark on this journey, I want to encourage parents to take the lead in making decisions about what your child can accomplish. Each family's situation, health, and ability to take on this is different. We want to support your family to provide high-quality education without overwhelming families and increasing their vulnerability.
Therefore, all of our classrooms will be transitioning to having a Google Classroom and this will be the hub to our communication. Kindergarten parents--Be on the lookout for an email from me that will have more information for you!
We will try to not bombard families with emails unless it is something notable that you need to know. Please look to your child's Google Classroom page daily for information about course work. On Google Classroom there is a feature whereby teachers can add a Guardian email where parents get email notifications, alerts, etc. As a default we are not turning that on; however, if you would like your email to be added as a Guardian feature, please contact your child's teacher.
Additionally, all of our specialists have created Google Classrooms including STEM, Library, Guidance, Music, Band, and Physical Education. Please know that for some students access to these resources is essential because of their interest and connection to these teachers. For some students, this will look more extra-curricular, enrichment, and optional activities. Do what is best for your child based on your particular circumstances.
I want to orient you to on the West G website whereby many important links have been added that address our current closure: https://www.westg.org/CoronavirusCOVID-19InformationLN.aspx
Furthermore, a Frequently Asked Question document has been created to help answer some of the items that families need to know: https://filecabinet5.eschoolview.com/11E11D2B-EAFF-4E9B-8CEF-BB956A037E79/WestGeaugaElementarySchools_FAQsonRemoteOnlineLearning.pdf
Third Quarter report cards will be ready for online viewing through Infinite Campus on 4/9/20. I will send a quick note as that date approaches reminding everyone how to log in. Stay tuned!
Thank you for giving us grace as we work through this. Please do not hesitate to reach to let us know what you need and how we can help.
We appreciate our partnership more than you could ever know.
Best,
Meagan Bellan, Principal

Greetings Lindsey Families!
I hope this finds all of you well. Hopefully our first week of online instruction went relatively smoothly for your families, and that you are settling in to a new "routine."
I wanted to pass along this article which I hope you might find helpful. While we are all doing our best to find a sense of "normal," I found these suggestions insightful and hopefully you will too.
Readjusting and keeping a some form of schedule
