Family Day
Dear Parent/Guardians:
On Friday, June 3 we will be having Mt. Baldy School’s annual Family Day. This day is our “Open House” and all parents are invited to see what we have been doing in the classrooms this year. The children and teachers work hard to prepare for this special day and look forward to showing off their work.
We will have a normal day until the event begins at 10:30 a.m. As you arrive we will be directing you to the amphitheater.
Here is how we are planning our events:
10:30–11:15 a.m.: Welcome, introductions, brief speech by Ted Alejandre, SBCSS Superintendent and class performances in the amphitheater.
11:15--12:00 p.m.: Classroom visits. At this time please go and visit the classrooms. The teachers and students are very proud of their accomplishments and want you to see them.
12:00--12:35 p.m.: Lunch time. Please enjoy the lunch provided by our P.T.A.
12:35—12:55 p.m. Join us at the amphitheater for our Basket Raffle!
12:55p.m. All students dismissed back to classrooms to pick up backpacks and lunchboxes.
1:05 p.m. End of school. Students go home on bus or are picked up by parent/guardians in front of the school.
We will be on a minimum day schedule with dismissal at 1:05 p.m. We look forward to seeing all of you on Friday.
Sincerely,
Nancy Sirski
Attendance
Why does this matter? Good student attendance increases your child's enjoyment of and success in school. Also, we receive funding for every day a student attends school. While we appreciate that families have kept students home while ill, we ask that you refrain from pulling your children out to make or extend a long weekend. Please plan family trips, birthday celebrations and visits to amusement parks during regularly scheduled school breaks or summer.
Mt. Baldy School is small, and we do not receive the additional funds for supplemental and concentration funds of bigger districts -- every penny counts.
Thank you for supporting your child's learning as well as our program by scheduling trips and celebrations during the summer, weekends and school holidays.

Bus Conduct
Per the bus rider agreement, students may lose the privilege of riding the bus. We will be reteaching students about appropriate bus behavior during the next week.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our bus riders safe!

Suicide Prevention Parent Information
An analogy that comes to mind is CPR training--we hope we never have to use it, but feel better in knowing that we have some basic skills should we ever need them -- and the more people who are trained, the better chances that there will be someone who can help if an event occurs.
Please click on the document below to learn about a free training for parent/guardians. We encourage you to attend this free online training.
