Learning with Mrs. Ackenbom's Littles
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Mrs. Ackenbom's Littles are starting to stay goodbye to Winter and hello to Spring! Warmer weather and longer days are now on the horizon!
Lucky the Leprechaun came to visit! What a surprise!
He shrank our hats! They were 8oz cups and now they are the size of hat a leprechaun could wear!
Imagination at Work
This week Mrs. Ackenbom's Littles created leprechaun puppets. We then read aloud The Luckiest Leprechaun by Jill McCarthy and acted out the actions of the main character. We love bringing the plot to life by acting them out! We also practiced using measuring cups and made Leprechaun Pudding...SO many magical learning experiences all in one week!
Loving Literacy and Leprechauns!
Math manipulatives
Here we are practicing how to use one to one correspondence and preparing to teach Kindergarten buddies how to see invisible Touchpoints on numbers 1-9.
Here we are teaching our Kindergarten buddies invisible Touchpoints! We were AWESOME teachers!
Community Night was a Huge Hit!
Mokie!
Mrs. Ackenbom's Littles and other first graders created art focusing on Mokie and other facts we have learned about mammals this year.
Mokie's Saddle!
Mokie's tack was on display for all to see.
Camp Friendship!
Miss Monica, an instructor from Camp Friendship Equestrian Center, came to Crozet Elementary to answer any questions our families had about our partnership with them.
Magically Creative!
Nathan finished kitting his cat! Other students are soon to follow!
