The Most Wonderful time of the Year! 🎄

We are approaching the time of year we often call the "most wonderful time of the year" for many reasons! For some of us this is based on our faith and convictions that give us daily hope, for others it is a time to share what we have been blessed with, and for all of us we will surely look forward to time spent with the ones we love. ❤

As we make our plans and enjoy the season we must not forget those who will be missing the blessed loved ones lost in the last few years. During this wonderful time of the year let's focus on the beauty of loving others, sharing our blessings and setting an example of gratefulness to the next generation who are watching us!

I hope this wonderful time of year will also bring some more time interacting together playing, working, eating, reading, traveling, shopping, wrapping, and just being together! Don't forget that for our children every opportunity can be a learning opportunity...we just need to seize the moment! Find a simple thing to teacher your child each day they are home this Christmas Break. Remember you, the parent, will always be your child's first teacher!

The Parent-Child Home Program works with parents and their two & three year old children in one-on-one home visits to help parents prepare their children for school success. This program provides free high-quality books and educational material each week. The visits will be made by a trained facilitator for about 30 minutes each twice a week. We are starting this free program in Pelham in the new year. We are currently taking new applicants for this program. The applications are available in the front office of Pelham Elementary School and in the Parent Resource Center at PES. Parent University

Parent University is a program that works the Camilla House of Hope to provide parenting classes to give parents tools to be successful on the parenting journey. A new series of classes will be starting in person in January. Helping our Loved Ones

Sometimes we find our family and friend going through some hard times and one of the recent issues that our society is facing is that of addiction. This is a issue that reaches to all neighborhoods, all ages, all races, and all economic situations. The Tucker Baptist Association is currently providing help and support with Families Facing Addiction, a group which meets at Camilla United Methodist Church every third Thursday, 7 p.m. If you have questions please contact Brother Lee Bradley, 256-452-4016.
