Principal's Update
September 7, 2020
Dear Stinson Families,
The first of these is the Public Health Transition Plan that details HOW our schools will operate during in-person instruction.
The second is our Transition to In-Person Learning graphic that explains WHO will be returning in our tiered approach and as health metrics allow. (Spanish-version found here).
We are working to balance the need to have students back in classrooms with the need to ensure student and staff safety. We fully understand that virtual learning is not the best model for all students but we also recognize that opening too soon and with too many students could have negative consequences if there is an increase in COVID-19 exposure and/or positive cases.
To provide greater clarity and support to our families as we welcome students on campus, we will contact all parents of the next tiered group who are eligible for in-person learning, explain the process, and hold virtual Town Hall meetings.
We have enjoyed "seeing" your children learning through synchronous learning! Watching my 6th graders engage in their dance class last week and saying hello to our newest Skyhawks was the highlight of my week.
May you all stay safe and strong.
With Skyhawk Pride,
Lourdes J. Medina
Principal
Back Together Better : Stay Stinson, Stay Safe, Stay Skyhawks
As we welcome our first group of in-person learners, we wanted to remind parents of the health and safety protocols outlined in the district and campus Start Smart Playbook. Based on the district's tiered approach and as health metrics allow, we will adjust our campus operation procedures to provide for a safe and health transition to in-person learning. Please click on the highlighted titles below for detailed information.

Schoology Updates
If your student has questions in the evenings, don't forget about our Online Homework Support where you can chat with a certified teacher and receive homework help. Online Homework Support is available for elementary students from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Thursday and secondary students from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Support is also available Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. You can find the link to Online Homework Support in your student's portal.
Access codes for parent accounts will be sent the week after next. Please watch your student's email for the access code and instructions for creating your Schoology parent account. We thank you for your patience and flexibility as we work to support our students and teacher in Schoology. As a reminder, you may still view Schoology courses through your student's account.
As our students and teachers continue to learn, we are receiving questions related to the use of Schoology. We are working to establish a Schoology helpline that can provide assistance to parents and students. We will send out more information about the Schoology helpline in next week's newsletter.
Census 2020
Remember, Census data helps decide how much federal funding our community receives for schools, hospitals, roads, public works, and other important programs.
