Workshop Meeting
2015-2018 Comprehensive Plan
Dr. Rodney Troutman, Assistant Superintendent, and Mrs. Kelly Rosario, Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Development gave a presentation on the strategic planning process that occurred over the last school year and which included participation from staff, parents and community members. The plan includes a mission statement, vision statement and celebrates achievements, yet also highlights challenges that will serve as a guide for what the district must focus on in the coming years. PSBA Presentation
Mr. Zachary Pearce, Member Relations Coordinator for the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, gave a presentation about benefits of membership in the organization.
Business Meeting
The Board voted to approve the following resolution in support of House Bill 2124 (necessary support of the process for state reimbursement of school construction and renovation projects). You can view that here.
Roundtable
The board welcomed 2014-15 Student Representative to the School Board Caitlin Carlson who gave a lovely report about the start-of-school happenings in all of our school buildings.
The Board thanked Mrs. Roberta Marcus for her testimony and representation of Parkland at a recent State Funding Commission Hearing.
The Board congratulated the staff on a great opening of the school year.
The Board and Mr. Sniscak thanked Rod Troutman and Kelly Rosario for their presentation and work on the Comprehensive Plan noted above.
Mrs. Marcus closed the meeting by noting that Superintendent Richard Sniscak has been appointed to represent IU21 on the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators Board of Governors.
