From the Principal's Desk
I can’t believe how fast this school year is flying by! With the first quarter of school already behind us, I want to again thank you for participating in our parent teacher conferences. It is so great working together as a team to make this school year the best it can be for each child.
This month, our students earned their second PBS celebration for great classroom and school behavior. Students had a fun time watching a fall video and eating popcorn! We are already excited for our next PBS celebration!
Parents, please be advised that with the weather change comes the need for warm jackets or coats at recess time.
Classes go outside everyday unless it is raining and students need to be prepared for the weather change. Be sure to send the appropriate clothing to school and safe shoes to help insure that your child is comfortable during the recess break. Thank you!

Reading for Meaning!
Here’s a fun family reading activity to emphasize “meaning” …write short notes to your child and leave them around the house where they are sure to find them! Leave a message in their lunchbox… “I know you don’t like carrots, but they are good for YOU!” Praise good behavior with a note on their bedroom door… “Thanks for picking up your toys tonight!” or,
reminders on the bathroom mirror… “Please rinse me. Signed, Your Toothbrush.”
Your child will be delighted to find notes from you and will love reading them aloud, which builds fluency and comprehension. Don’t be surprised if you start finding notes from YOUR child… “Can we have cake for supper tonight? Please?” Signed, Jay
