1) We still have COVID tests in the health office available for students (and their families). They are the BinaxNow tests, and the results are pretty quick (they say they take 15 minutes).
2) If your student tests positive for COVID, it is recommended they quarantine for the 5 days from symptom onset. However, the more important things are to be fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications, and symptom improvement. So as long as your students are fever free, their symptoms have improved and they feel well enough to be here, then they may return to school.
3) If your student tests negative for COVID, but has symptoms (cold/flu/GI, etc.), please follow the above guidelines. Fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications, and feeling well enough to be here.
4) If your student has been exposed to COVID, they may still come to school unless they are exhibiting symptoms and are not feeling well enough to be here/with fever.
5) If your student is ill (and you do not test for COVID), please still follow the sick day guidelines. Fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications, no vomiting/diarrhea for 24 hours and feeling well enough to be here.
The health office is really in need of pants for boys and girls. Sizes 6-8. You can drop donations off at the Elementary Office. Sweatpants are preferred over jeans. Thanks for considering!
Menstrual Products in the School Restrooms
Starting at the new year, both the Mora Elementary and High School will be providing students menstrual products that will be available to them in the bathrooms. This change is due to the Minnesota Legislature that goes into effect January 2024; the change is specifically directed towards grades 4-12. The passage of this bill makes Minnesota the 16th state to mandate free menstrual products in schools. If you have any questions, please reach out to the Elementary or High School Health Office.
