What is Netiquette?
The set of rules used for communication over the computer, and posting on the internet and social media.
The Rules of Netiquette
- Don't say something you wouldn't say to your family members or to someone's face.
- Use proper grammar when emailing your teacher, parents, employers, (etc.)
- Use the THINK acronym:
- is it True?
- is it Helpful?
- is it Inspiring?
- is it Necessary?
- is it Kind?
- Remember that there is usually another human being with feeling on the other side of the screen.
- Use the block and report if someone is posting something harmful.
- DON'T USE ALL CAPITAL LETTERS WHILE EMAILING BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE YELLING.
- Keep emails on subject and try to get it to the point.
- Dont troll, and don't fight back with people who troll.
- Respond to emails within 24 hours.
- Check your email daily.
