Hello Holland Elementary Parents,
Tomorrow is Field Day, and the children are REALLY excited. In order to make the event a success, the staff and I will be promoting fair, safe, and fun activities. The students will be outside for a majority of the day, so wearing appropriate clothing and drinking plenty of water will enhance each child’s safety and enjoyment. Here are a few items in preparation for the day:
- Shorts, socks, and sneakers are considered appropriate clothing for Field Day.
- Students should bring a water bottle to make sure they are staying hydrated. We'll have water coolers available for the children, so refillable water bottles are best.
- Wearing sunscreen or a hat should also be considered.
- The PTO generously supplied all students with a Field Day t-shirt, and these went home yesterday with the children.
- If you’re planning to stop by school to watch the events, the morning activities are from 9:30-11:30 and the afternoon activities are from 1:30-3:00.
- Tomorrow's temperatures will peak by the end of our activities in the mid-eighties with low humidity. This shouldn't be too bad for everyone, but we'll modify activities if we feel that there are any issues with the heat.
Field Day is a favorite day for the children, and tomorrow is going to be great!
HES Proud!
- Our fifth and sixth graders sounded awesome in their Chorus Concert performances. The students sported their Travis Manion Foundation t-shirts and nailed their patriotic-themed songs. Special thanks to Mrs. Lutz for her work with the children to have them perform so well!
- On Tuesday, Mr. Murphy and I delivered 185 Jared Boxes to St. Christopher's Hospital in Philadelphia. The staff was so excited and appreciative that our students were able to create these for children who are at the hospital.
- The second grade students gave their moms a special gift last Friday during their Mother's Day presentation - a fantastic day!
- At our Celebrity Scoop at Rita's Water Ice last week, our school brought in $815.96 in sales. Rita's donated 20% of these sales to the March of Dimes - $165! Thank you!

This change impacts all schools in the state, not just those in Council Rock. The letter at the link below explains these changes. Please contact our school nurse with any questions related to these changes. Immunization Letter May 2017.
