Please remember that RECHS follows the inclement weather plan and decisions set forth by the Randolph County School System. If the traditional schools are on a delay, closed or on remote instruction, RECHS will do the same.
RCC Update
From RCC:
Starting Monday, January 31 students will resume Spring Semester schedules based on the original posted delivery method unless otherwise communicated by their instructor. For continued mitigation students are reminded to wear a face covering indoors, and social distance where possible. Students are encouraged to check their RCC email, Moodle (online courses) and the RCC website for important updates.Students, this means on Monday, you begin following the schedule you see in your PowerSchool. You will resume your face-to-face college classes, academic labs and seminars that are present on your PowerSchool schedule.

Please continue to access your online college classes daily to prevent from being dropped! Remember, if you drop a class or you are dropped after the first 5 days of the semester, you receive a failing grade on the high school transcript.

RhinoLeap Residency
The Director of RhinoLeap Productions, Jeremy Skidmore, will be meeting with our drama club at 4:15 in the commons on Thursday, February 3rd. RhinoLeap Productions is based in Asheboro and they produce live theatrical productions, lead educational residencies and produce digital media for television and streaming platforms.
RhinoLeap is interested in hosting a residency in the spring with Randolph Early College High School. We are looking at the residency running from April 11th through May 6th.
You do not have to be interested in acting and theater to participate. The residency focuses on various skills such as writing, communication, and music.
If you are interested in learning more, please attend the meeting Thursday, 2/3 at 4:15 in the commons. Again, you do not need to be a member of the drama club or an actor/actress to participate in this residency program.
Anime club on 2/3/22 will meet in Ms. Blackmon's room. Anime members are encouraged to attend the RhinoLeap 2/3/22 meeting.

Announcements from Ms. Perry, RCC Liaison
RCC Registration for 10th-11th Graders
- All current 10th and 11th grade students must schedule an advising appointment with our liaison, Mrs. Perry prior to RCC registration.
- Students can schedule appointments with Mrs. Perry from now until April 4, 2022.
- RCC Registration will open April 11, 2022 for Fall '22 semester.
- RECHS students will not be allowed to register for college classes until they complete their advising meeting.
- When you schedule your appointment, you must indicate whether you are requesting an in-person or virtual meeting. Not during academic class time.
- Parents and guardians are more than welcome to attend to these meetings.
Seniors, if you have not already applied for college graduation please do so immediately.

Fees go to providing educational opportunities for students such as subscriptions, lab materials, supplemental books, etc.
Randolph NEXT: RCC/RCSS/ACS March 8 Senior Event
Seniors WITHOUT post-graduation plans, this is for you!!!
On March 8, 2022, Randolph Community College and other organizations are hosting an event to show you opportunities available within Randolph County. RCC will showcase their programs, a job fair will occur, and military recruiters will be present. Seniors can come in any of the time blocks below:
· 9:15-11:15 (reserved for HS seniors)
· 12:15-2:15 (reserved for HS seniors)
· 4:00-6:00 (open to the public)

SGA will give away a number of prizes for services like Netflix, Hulu, and others through a virtual hunt for an armadillo! Here’s how you can win!
1) Follow SGA on Instagram at @randolphccsga
2) Check our Instagram story each Friday at 11am for a picture of our little armadillo friend and this week’s prize located somewhere in Randolph County
3) Email your answer to the armadillo’s location to sga@randolph.edu use your RCC student email address before our Instagram story disappears from our page!
4) If you are the first correct answer for that week, you win that week’s prize
5) Even if you are not first, if your answer is correct, you are entered in a drawing for a grand prize at the end of our contest. Each correct answer enters you in the final drawing again! So, for each week you submit a correct answer, you increase your odds of winning the grand prize!

Need to create a resumé or cover letter or to work on interview techniques? Want to learn how to job search or how to use technology to enhance your job search? Need assistance with an application or training in soft skills? Randolph Community College is here to help with its Employability Skills Lab.
The lab, which is free to all RCC students, is from 1-4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Aug. 17, in the Student Services Career Center on the Asheboro Campus. No appointment is necessary. Students attending any Employability Skills Lab will be eligible to choose one item of free professional clothing from The Armadillo Career Closet.
