Meet the Principal - Mrs. Van Wilgen Moore

Hi! I'm Nicole Van Wilgen Moore, the proud principal at Anaheim Hills Elementary School!

I was born and grew up in Orange County, CA. I went to college at Cal State Long Beach for my undergraduate degree and teacher credential program. I earned my master's degree in Educational Leadership and my administrative credential from San Jose State University.

As an educator, I have been dedicated to serving students for more than 12 years. I have experience at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. I have been a proud member of the OUSD community for the past seven years, and have both district and site level administrator experience. It has been wonderful seeing OUSD's programs in action in our classrooms here at AHES!

As well as an educator, I am also a mom. My husband and I have two children - Degan (5) and Sawyer (3) So, between the kids and our careers we have very full and rewarding lives! As a family, we love to travel and camp in our pop-up trailer around California.

I feel so fortunate that I was able to work with our AHES community during the last unprecedented school year. We managed to make it a great one with the incredible support from our community and the hard work of our teachers and staff. This next year, we remain committed to ensuring the safety of our students and staff while also providing a rich learning experience for our students.

As we head into the new school year, please know that it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors feel welcome here! This enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, collaborative, and nurturing environment. I value your input and look forward to collaborating with you. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me throughout the school year.

I am looking forward to an amazing year!

You can find our updated tentative AHES bell schedule for the 2021-2022 school year here. Our bell schedule is informed by our transportation bus route for our school. I will send out the final schedule once it is approved by our district office but thought a tentative schedule might help with family planning for now. This is a tentative schedule and subject to change. You can find the tentative bell schedule here.
