The PHS student school day is 9:15am - 4:00pm. Teachers are available from 8:15am to 4:15pm daily - We encourage you to email teachers directly whenever you are needing assistance. The PHS Main Entrance opens for student arrival beginning at 7:30am.

Prairie High School is built on strong traditions, and is known for its academic excellence, strong family support, and dedicated faculty and staff. The PHS administration, faculty, and staff are excited to welcome students, families, and community volunteers back into the building and make this the best year yet.

  • Make sure your student attends school daily and arrives on time, ready to learn
  • Ensure your student completes assignments and meets deadlines
  • Help your student manage their time
  • Encourage your student to take courses that build their experience and the love of learning
  • Ask your student about their day, so that you are aware of their school life

Red Basket Project at PHS - THANK YOU NHS!

Red Basket Project at PHS - THANK YOU NHS!

Did you know that in the United States, 1 in 5 teens struggle to afford feminine hygiene products and 4 in 5 either missed or knew someone who missed class time because they did not have access to feminine hygiene products. In response to this need, National Honor Society has partnered with the Red Basket Project to support access to feminine hygiene products in the female bathrooms at PHS. These products are available free of charge to anyone who may need them. All we ask is that you only take what you need in that moment.


If you need a month's supply of feminine hygiene products, there are "period packs" available in the Student Services Office. These packs are available with a "no questions asked" policy.


Finally, this project runs on donations only, no school money is used to fund it. If you would like to support the purchase of feminine hygiene products, you can donate using the district's InTouch Receipting System. If you would like to donate feminine hygiene products directly, they can be brought to the Student Services Office. All donated products must be in their original packaging.
