Gratitude All Around

We have no school next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for the long holiday weekend. While we all have so much to worry through this year, we can't help but be grateful for all we have.

We have families that cheer us on and work so hard to make sure their children are ready to learn.

We have students who are so eager to learn and are open to connections and new adventures here at school and virtually!

We have staff members who stop at NOTHING to meet the many new needs this year has brought us for each student.

We have a PTO that supports our entire community in reaching every student every day.

Thank you. I hope the next week is full of moments you are grateful for as well. I hope your family stays safe and healthy. And, I hope we all find time to rest and connect.

-Faith

COVID-19 Updates

The SDW Student Services department sent an email to all families this afternoon with specific reminders for keeping students home from school when they have symptoms of COVID-19 and if there is a suspected COVID-19 case in your home. Please read through this entire document for additional information on how we can all work together to keep schools open. We are truly in a new situation with the high rate of COVID-19 in our county and the possibility of transmission is very high throughout our community.

If your child has been quarantined because of close contact, please communicate with our office so we can continue to track our building cases and switch your child to virtual for attendance coding. If your child is not quarantining or showing symptoms, please continue to send them to school for face to face instruction. Outside of illness and quarantine, all parents have 10 days that can be parent excused but we are not able to switch children to virtual without the quarantine or isolation notice from the COVID team.

Also, if your child is in a class that is quarantining, they are not allowed to attend events hosted in our building or sponsored by our school. We know families are looking ahead to gatherings in the upcoming weeks and the quarantine notices that have been shared by the county health department outline what is safe and not safe during a quarantine.

Report Card Letter

The end of the trimester is less than a month away and report cards will be available online on December 11th. Please take some time to read through THIS DOCUMENT that outlines what you will see on the elementary report card. Reach out if you have any questions!
