Christ Child Academy Newsletter

May 2, 2019

From the Desk of Mr. Ruedinger

Registration for the 2019-2020 school year is now open to all new families on a first come, first serve basis. There will be a maximum enrollment of 12 in the 3K preschool program.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. In addition to the efforts throughout the year, the Archdiocese of Milwaukee has always recognized the importance of Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. This year, the Archdiocese has also designated April 29th - May 5th as Safe Environment Week. In doing so, we can assure that every parish and school, as well as the entire faith community, focuses on the importance of keeping our children and youth safe. You can find more information about Child Abuse Prevention Month on the Archdiocese’s website at Safeguarding April 2019.

Grandparents Day/May Crowning is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7 with Mass beginning at 8:30 am. May Crowning will begin about 9:15 am with classroom visits to follow. There will be refreshments in the gym following the classroom visits. Weather-permitting, outdoor recess may be available after the craft activity in the gym. We invite all Grandparents to share in the morning's festivities.

Just a reminder, the Spring Vocal Concert will be held Wednesday, May 8 in the IC Parish Activity Center/Gym beginning at 6:00 pm. All students in grades K-8 are to report to their classrooms at 5:30 pm. Please have your students wear spring colors and dress in their "Sunday best", modest and appropriate-for-church clothes. Please review the CCA Family Handbook Dress Code. The song lyrics can be found by visiting Mrs. Harder's music CCA website page or at for the students to practice.

The Spring Band Concert will be held Wednesday, May 15 at 6:30 pm at Christ Child Academy in the IC Parish Activity Center/Gym.

MAP testing will be held the week of May 13-16. All students in grades K - 8 will be tested to see how they have progressed this year. Please do not schedule any appointments for your children during this time. It is important that the students are in attendance and well-rested, so they can do their best on the tests. Thank you for your cooperation.

The State of the School Celebration will be on Tuesday, May 28th. The evening begins with free pizza and water in the gym for all parents and students from 5:30-6:30 pm. The parent’s only meeting will be held in the church from 6:30-7:00 pm. Babysitting/supervision will be provided for students in the gym and playground from 6:30-7:15 pm. We look forward to celebrating a wonderful school year and sharing future school initiatives.

Quarter 4 report cards will be mailed out after the last day of school this year.

Please spread the word about CCA! There are incentives for each student a family recruits to our school. Please see our Student Referral Program below for detail.

2018-2019 Annual Fund Appeal Update

The 2018-2019 Annual Fund Appeal for Christ Child Academy is in full swing. Through generous donations from both parents and parishioners, we have raised $41,000 to date. Our goal for this year is $75,000. You are welcome to donate to the Annual Fund Appeal through June 30, 2019. Monies raised help enrich programs, technology, academics, arts, and help us to keep tuition reasonably affordable.

This year, we have added a new feature for your convenience. We have partnered with GoFundMe to accept online donations for our Annual Fund Appeal. Click on the banner below to donate!

Safeguarding All God's Family

If parents or grandparents plan to participate in field trips, work in the lunchroom, coach, or help out at school, you must attend a Safeguarding All God’s Family training through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. You must register on-line at and indicate you are associated with Christ Child Academy. If you have not previously been trained, now is a great time to attend a session.

Box Tops for Education

CCA can earn money from clipping Box Tops found on various products. When you buy items, simply clip the Box Top and bring it to CCA. The Box Tops are submitted, and our school receives a check which is used towards our activity fund. It’s another easy way for you to help the school by purchasing the products you already use! Enlist your family, friends and neighbors to collect the Box Tops, too.

CCA Family Camping Weekend

The CCA Family Camping weekend is scheduled at Kohler Andre State Park for September 27th, 28th, and 29th of 2019 . Camping sites can be booked 11 months out, so reserve your spot now as they fill up quickly! If you have any questions, please email Nick Reinl at
