Harriet Martineau
Harriet Martineau was born on June 12th, 1802. She was born into an upper middle class family. Her father worked as a manufacturer of textiles and was an importer of wine, while her mother was a stay at home mom. She was the sixth child of eight children. She began losing her hearing, taste, and smell at a very young age.
Once Harriet was 18, she decided that writing was going to be her main profession. She wrote novels, essays, reviews, tracts, children's books, articles, and more.
