Welcome to the Year 5 Newsletter
Dear Parents,
A warm welcome back to school and we're straight into Term 3! Thank you for helping your child to complete their homework task - there was a huge variety of market place experiences to share, from Spain to Japan to Wan Chai! We hope you all had a lovely break.

Unit of Inquiry
The children have created market research surveys which have been sent out to other Kennedy classes, so that the results can be used to further develop and modify their product designs to meet their target audience.
The groups have created shopping lists of items they will need to start their production run. We are hoping they will be able to purchase some of these items over this long weekend, so be prepared to accompany the kids on a shopping expedition.
A polite reminder: please do not purchase or provide any items for your child. They have a strict budget to follow and every cent must be accounted for in their budget spreadsheet. The Chief Financial Officers will be checking all the receipts and change to ensure the budgets balance! Thank you!

Maths
Number work will focus on Pattern and Function. The children will have the opportunity to search for patterns in numbers, objects and in the real world. There are many fantastic investigations which will introduce the children to pre-algebraic formulas including the nth position. Watch this space!
