For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

New Year, New Beginnings!

The beautiful thing about a new year is the excitement of a fresh start! Some people spend lots of energy and money making New Year's resolutions that they struggle to stick with past the first few weeks of the year. Others have more discipline to follow through. But regardless, no one can deny the sense of renewal that accompanies a brand-new year.

While I have never been big on resolutions since the name itself has negative connotations that hint toward unmet expectations and forgotten promises, I am all about setting goals and making plans. Intentional living requires a certain amount of goal setting. So what goals or plans will you make for 2016? Any physical goals? Maybe you plan to eat healthier or exercise a little more. What about spiritual goals? Maybe you plan to dig a little deeper into God's Word or pray a little more. (Just an aside - if you have never taken the challenge to read through the entire Bible in a year, I would encourage you to consider it. You can find more information about this challenge at the link HERE.)

As our new batch of 365 days begins on January 1st, what will you do with them? What new beginning will you embrace in 2016? New year, new beginnings!

6th Grade SERVICE Retreat

For over a year, NCS has consistently sent groups of 7th-12th students to local organizations in an effort to serve our community. These monthly service retreats are something we are continuing to do in the middle school. On January 25th, the 6th grade class will be our second group of middle school students going out into the community to help be the hands and feet of Jesus. More information will be sent to 6th grade students and parents in coming weeks.

Middle School Reminders

NCS Middle School Handbook REFRESHER

As the new semester begins, it may be a good idea to refresh your memory of the expectations, rules, and policies laid out in the NCS Middle School Handbook. Please pay close attention to the absence and tardy policies. You can always find the handbook on our website - http://www.northlakechristian.org/middle-school/- or you can find it HERE as well. Thank you for taking time to review this important information.
