Toys for Tots Drive at Manor School
The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, an IRS recognized 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit charity, was established in 1991 at the behest of the Marine Corps to help run and support the Marine Toys for Tots Program. The Foundation raises funds, purchases toys, provides promotional and support materials, manages all funds raised and donated, solicits corporate support, educates the public, and handles day-to-day operations.
Presently, the Marine Toys for Tots Program distributes an average of 18 million toys to 7 million less fortunate children annually. In 2021, 68,887 toys were distributed throughout the Greater Rochester area.
This year's need is anticipated to be great. Please consider donating a new, unwrapped toy to the Marine Toys for Tots Campaign. A drop-box is located in the main lobby of Manor School. Thank you!

A Note Regarding Upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences
Manor Intermediate students are off to a great start! I loved seeing so many families at both our Meet and Greet and our Open House. It has been nice to have parent volunteers back in school this year as well. Communication between home and school is very important and should be an ongoing support for each and every student. Manor Intermediate is excited to continue our use of Schoology, SchoolTool and SeeSaw as classroom communication tools.
We understand how busy students, parents, and staff all are throughout the school year. Our use of emails, phone calls, SeeSaw, Schoology, Manor Messages, Friday folders/daily planners and SchoolTool are all meant to help parents keep track of their child's academic progress, as well as their weekly classroom events.
This year, Manor School is refining our approach to Parent-Teacher Conferences. In our experience, Parent-Teacher Conferences as a single event are not as effective as ongoing, consistent, and timely communication. We also find that several families have met with teachers as transitioning concerns or needs were being addressed this past month. As we get closer to November 11th, I wanted to clarify that Parent-Teacher Conferences do not have to ONLY happen on this day. If you feel comfortable with the level of communication and understanding that you have with your child's teacher, then a conference is not a requirement. However, should you have a concern or question about your child's program or progress, please reach out to your teacher and schedule a conference.
I look forward to seeing our families throughout the school year. Please know that concerns are addressed, as needed, and through a continuous assessment cycle. Thank you so much for your ongoing involvement and communication.
