A Message from Mrs. Fantaskey
Welcome February!
Family Fitness Night was a great success with many families enjoying an evening of fitness with Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Wong. We are so fortunate to have them both willingly share their passion for fitness with the rest of us. It was a great night to work out and enjoy the company of our Soaring Eagle community. Thank you to our 6th grade volunteers who served as leaders for the evening: Anthony, Caeden, Owen, Maisey, and Adelaide and to all who participated. Some photo highlights are included in this newsletter.
The Scholastic Book Fair was a huge success! Thank you to Mrs. Herwig, Mrs. Maloney, and Mrs. Caramenico for your bringing us this event and for you ongoing assistance . We are thrilled to see the joy and excitement in our Soaring Eagle readers while shopping for new books.
Winter Enrichment has begun! On Monday, we kicked off the opening classes for Winter Enrichment. A BIG thank you to Mrs. Schmidt, Mr. Ragnauth, Ms. Ruth, and Mrs. Ernst for working tirelessly to coordinate, plan, and organize the many details for this event. We are so appreciative of your efforts, and our students are so excited to have some extension opportunities this winter. Thank you to all who have volunteered as instructors, hall monitors, etc. We even have many of our high school students assisting as part of the NHS and the Key Club for service activities! have included a few photo highlights from Monday's classes.
Favorite Jersey Spirit Day: With the Super Bowl coming up this weekend and the Olympics taking place, we will host our Favorite Jersey Spirit Day on Friday 2/11/22.
Valentine's Day is 2/14/22 and we will celebrate with a "Give Yourself A Hug" spirit day. We will take some time to focus on self-love and classes will have the opportunity to exchange Valentine cards, too. Wear your comfy, cozy clothes on this fun day!
Black History Month is celebrated in February. We are exploring the many remarkable people, events, and accomplishments that have contributed to our society and changed our lives. Each morning, we are highlighting the lives and contributions of African American writers, soldiers, scientists, doctors, politicians, athletes, artists, and musicians and their importance to each of their fields. Our creative hallway display is filled with quotes, literature, images, and information for all to be inspired.
2/22/22 Twinning Twos-Day will be a fun day for students to join with their peers and be twins or multiples! We are excited to include some school spirit with this unique date!
Thank you to our DHSA for the awesome Groundhog's Day Yogurt Parfait provided for our February Staff Appreciation! Your generosity and ongoing support of our staff and school continue to be just amazing! We are so grateful for the love and support!
Wishing you a wonderful week!
Kind regards,
Mrs. Fantaskey

Sparks NewsLetter
In a recent article by psychologist Louis Tay, he states, “Don’t push your children toward skills just because they pay well. Financial success is only one dimension of a fulfilling life.” Teaching our children to understand and value money can be a challenge in our world especially when we consider what is “needed” and what is “wanted”.
As part of our Career Education Program through the District’s Success Plan (Smart Futures and Naviance), we provide lessons and resources on various topics including “How Money is Used” in the primary grades, to budgeting, financial literacy and entrepreneurship in the secondary grades. These are important lessons to help your daughter or son see a path to their future goals and a means to attain those goals. Ask your student to log onto these platforms and show you what they are learning.
