Two Great Assemblies

Dear Parents,

The enrichments team has been hard at work planning all kinds of awesome things for our children! Coming up, we have a couple of wonderful assemblies that we want to let you know about.

The first will be on Tuesday, Nov. 4th. The full school will be treated to an interactive visual arts assembly. The students will be engaged and energized, and creating awesome drawings! We can't wait to see what they create!

The second assembly will be celebrating Veteran's Day on Friday, Nov. 7th (reminder - no school on the actual Veteran's Day, Nov. 11th). Hopefully you've gotten your family military pictures in to be included in the slideshow. The children and staff will be treated to a color guard, an amazing speaker, a live trumpeter, American flags and an incredible acapella group comprised of former military men. Thank you to Elizabeth Goetchius for making this assembly happen for our kids!

Library Field Trip

Tomorrow, November 4th is our walking field trip to the library. Please check to make sure kids have their library cards for tomorrow's field trip. Also, please make sure books are returned by tomorrow's due date so kids can check out more literature.

One of the many programs our parents sponsor includes Dancing Classrooms Los Angeles. Dancing Classrooms instructs our fifth grade students in ballroom dances like the merengue, rumba, fox trot, and tango while at the same time teaching them social skills and respect for one another. On Wednesday, November 5th at 5pm, our students will have their first team match against area schools in the "Colors of Rainbow" showcase at Union Station. All are welcome to come support the team at this free event. It's very exciting for us, 4th graders to go and support 5th graders since it will be us dancing next year! We've taken home the city-wide gold medal twice so you won't be disappointed! See the flyer for details.
