2. Weaknesses: Teaching and learning; communication; collaboration
I plan to support staff by having pre and post conferences after observations as necessary. We will have professional learning that will be relative to their needs and differentiate them. A collaborative culture will be built where we are truly a community of learners.
I will utilize the book, Get Better Faster (Paul Bambrick-Santoyo)
This will help to differentiate the needs of staff. This will almost serve as a micro-credential approach to professional learning.
The Coach Approach to School Leadership (Jessica Johnson, Shira Leibowitz, & Kathy Perret)
This will be utilized with administration to develop coaching relationships with teachers.
Observations are done weekly by subjects rather than random teachers.
Admin 1: Math/Science/Electives
Admin 2: ELA/SS/Electives
Support from the guidance counselor and the media specialist to have coaching conversations with teachers.
Students & Parents
- The development of data notebooks will be implemented by the 2nd nine weeks. This will be tracked during intervention time and/or advisory.
- I will have an assembly once test scores are released to discuss where we are as a school. This will be done by grade level and/or subject.
- We will have student lead conferencing with parents.
- We will implement data nights with parents.
Principal's Goals
Professional Learning Communities, Teacher Leadership & Culture
- During the 2019-2020 school year, elements of an instructional framework, a Professional Learning Community, as designed by Eaker & Dufour, would be developed in stages throughout the school year in an effort to work towards the rise in student achievement with at least 50% of the framework being implemented by June of 2020.
- What is it that we want students to learn?
- How will they know if we learned it?
- What will we do if they don't learn it?
- What will we do if they already learned it?
This goal will be progressive by mastery of the teacher and PLC groups.
We will work on an I Do, You Do, We Do approach to teaching and learning.
2. During the 2019-2020 school year, teacher leadership will begin in its developmental stages by the end of the Fall of 2020 for the purposes of creating data teams and to devote focus on standards of learning.
- Artifacts will include meeting agendas and minutes.
3. During the 2019-2020 school year, there will be 75% development of processes, protocols, procedures for the increase of developing a culture and climate that will be conducive for a focus of teaching and learning by the spring of 2020.
- Artifacts will be produced to demonstrate the development of the processes, protocols, and procedures.
- A gap analysis will be developed to demonstrate growth.
